Barbara van Winkelen Barbara's Nantucket whimsy abounds in her paintings. Whether depicting seagulls soaring lazily over Nantucket Harbor where the memory of a spring morning in 1880 exists or a still life of a wrought iron hanging piece holding four rattan work baskets similar to those made famous by seamen aboard the isolated Nantucket South Shoal Lightships, Barbara's special ability to capture your heart and bring you back in time is magical. You can meet her summers on Nantucket Island at her studio "Spindrift Gallery" on the Old South Wharf. Winters are spent at her Connecticut home where she creates unique paintings to meet the public demand for her work.
