The inspiration behind the art of
Charles Wysocki can be summed up in one word, love -- his love of country, love of family
and love of life. He was born in 1928 in a Polish enclave of Detroit. Growing
up in this community of immigrants surrounded him with people who celebrated the history
and traditions of their new homeland. He studied at the Art Center School of Design
in Los Angeles and become a commercial illustrator in Detroit. A vacation to New
England provided him with the visual source for his artistic inspiration. After a
successful one - man show in 1965 he was convinced he needed to follow his passion for
painting full time. Recognized worldwide as today's foremost living painter of
Americana, Charles Wysocki's endless creativity, originality and skill delights both
long-time fans and new admirers. You can find out more about Charles Wysocki by
